The Wind

I wish to run into the wind
To greet the sky and kiss the rain
Let go my soul, in time begin
To see the light, be free again;

To feel the warmth, and hear no sound
Let go the chains to which I'm bound
And will my feet to part with ground
To journey to a new place found;

And as I melt into the blue
I only wish it could be true
That you could start a life anew
That I could fly to be with you;

And without fear of those who shun
I would rise to meet the sun
And look below and see the ones
Who cannot know the joy I've found;

But, alas, in time all things must end
To earth I must return again
To bear the weight, and play the game
And go back from the place I came
